Overview
This policy explains what information LostFull.gg collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to lostfull.gg, its subdomains, and any LostFull widgets, tools, or games (together, the "Service").
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run accounts, games, and the site.
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, username, display name, and password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store them in plain text.
- Sign-in with another service: if you sign in with a provider like Google or Discord, we receive your basic profile (name, email, avatar) from that provider. We don't get your password or access to anything else in that account.
- Profile and activity: pick'em picks, bracket predictions, scores and leaderboard standings, favorites, and any profile info you add.
- Content groups: if you join a content group, your membership and your group's shared picks.
- Messages to us: anything you send through email or support.
Information collected automatically
- Log and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. Our hosting and security providers record this to deliver the site and block abuse.
- Cookies and similar storage: used to keep you signed in and remember preferences (see Cookies and analytics).
How we use information
We use your information to:
- Create and run your account, including sign-in and password resets
- Run pick'em games, brackets, leaderboards, and content groups
- Show your username, picks, and scores on public leaderboards and group pages
- Send the emails described in the Email policy
- Keep the Service secure, prevent cheating and abuse, and fix bugs
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Meet legal obligations
Your username, picks, and leaderboard results may be visible to other users. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Email policy
We send two kinds of email, and you control the second.
Account emails (always on). Verification, password resets, security alerts, and important changes to these policies. These are needed to run your account, so you can't opt out of them while your account is open.
Updates and promotional emails (your choice). Things like pick'em reminders, newsletters, new features, or partner offers. You only get these if you opt in, and every one includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect within 10 days, usually immediately.
We also commit to:
- Never selling, renting, or trading your email address
- Never giving your email to partners; any partner offer is sent by LostFull
- Identifying LostFull clearly as the sender, with honest subject lines
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect against abuse, and remember settings like theme. The site doesn't work properly without them. If we use analytics, it's to count visits and see which pages are popular, not to build advertising profiles. [Name the analytics tool here, or delete this paragraph if none.] You can block or clear cookies in your browser, but you may be signed out. We don't currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there's no common standard for them, but we also don't track you across other sites.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: all traffic to LostFull uses HTTPS (TLS).
- Encryption at rest: our database and storage providers encrypt stored data.
- Password protection: passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and never stored or visible in plain text.
- Access controls: database row-level security limits each account to its own private data, and admin access is restricted to the people who run LostFull.
- Minimal collection: we don't collect payment details, government IDs, or other sensitive data.
No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you and any required authorities as the law requires.
Use a unique password, and email contact@lostfull.gg if you find a security issue.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access a copy of your personal information
- Correct information that's wrong
- Delete your account and personal information
- Export your data in a common format
- Stop sending you promotional email
Email contact@lostfull.gg to make a request. We'll respond within 30 days and won't treat you differently for using these rights.
California residents: we don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may request details about what we've collected in the past 12 months.
EEA and UK residents: we process your information to provide the Service you signed up for (contract), to keep it secure and improve it (legitimate interests), and for promotional email only with your consent, which you can withdraw anytime. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Our providers may process data in the United States.
Children's privacy
LostFull isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email djones@lostfull.gg and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
